As we churn forward into the froth of climate change and energy scarcity, several technologies are emerging that have the potential to reduce our thirst for natural gas and electricity by very large amounts.   One of these is Solar Hot Water.  Heating water, along with space, is the largest use of energy in a domestic environment, and think of every restaurant and processing plant out there, all using millions of litres of hot water.

In BC, there is a real opportunity right now for skilled trades workers to make a move towards DSHW (Domestic Solar Hot Water) Installer certification and employment.  I will leave it to you to vist www.SolarBC.ca for the details.  Listed below are the upcoming Canadian Solar Industries Association workshops on this technology and trade:

Saturday Sept 20   SFU downtown campus, 515 W. Hastings St, Vancouver BC

Friday Sept 26    Kortright Centre, 9550 Pine Valley Drive, Woodbridge ON

Thursday Oct 16   West Kootenays, BC (details TBA)

More details on these and other solar training options at the CANSIA Education page.
